AUSTRALIAN STATES 1840-41 Two (very travel-worn) entire letters. The first a ship letter out of London dated 16th December 1840, addressed to Launceston, V.D.L., with a boxed ship letter mark dated 19th June 1841, initially with red RETURNED FOR POSTAGE and manuscript 1/1. The second a letter from Victoria dated 27th July 1854 with one shilling stamp per ship The Red Jacket addressed to Co. Cork and charged one shilling at Liverpool as a ship letter on 16th October 1854. Some damage, but rare and early.
