[a] BRITISH EMPIRE - HUGE COLLECTION IN "NEW IDEAL" ALBUM. A mint & used collection in a SG "New Ideal" album printed for stamps from 1840 to 1935. One of those rare occasions where the New Ideal has many, many areas with more stamps than spaces! The album itself somewhat well handled with pencil note suggesting it was given as a gift back in 1936 and it's been in use since then - with stamps added by multiple generations using hinges & in later years hingeless mounts. A surprisingly high percentage of mint (perhaps more than half of the stamps). Packed with sets, higher values and pages crammed with early stamps. Some signs of picked stamps nearer the front of the album but chiefly untouched (many 1000's)
