Carried by private ship to Liverpool with two-line LIVERPOOL / SHIP LETTER on reverse, arrived 20th January 1840, probably North American of Black Ball Line. Initially paid 4½ (pence) Canadian plus 18¾ (cents) and charged 8 (pence) in UK.
